Showcase: Embossing Folder

Close to my Heart (CTMH) started carrying the embossing folder this current catalog. We all are excited about it! SO today the post will be about that! It’s very easy and simple to create cards using embossing folder. Ours will only work through big shot or calibur. Cuttlebug is little tad small for it to be able to run through. The embossing folder is roughly 5 x 7.

Note:  I did use two retired items on this projects. They are Pearl Opaques and Game On paper packets. Those two items are RETIRED. Please take note of that.  Thank you.

I used the sketch on page 35 from Wishes, one of our how to program book. Love those books. If you don’t have one; I highly recommend you get them!  They’re full of various sketches for cards and scrapbooks. Check them out {HERE}.

After running the embossing folder through with big shot.  I took the block from the Sanding Kit and distressed the front of the cardstock to give it that grunge look.

Here’s the scheme that I am planning on using for the card.

I forgot to take a photo of the stamp set. I used one of the stamp set from You’ve got a Friend; our May 2014 stamp of the month set.  I inked it up in black inkpad and stamped onto white cardstock.  Next, I matted it onto the retired paper packet, Game On.  I used one of my FAVORITE tool from Stampin’ Up when I was demonstrator for them years ago.  This tool is called Perfect Layers. LOVE LOVE this!  This is very hard to find nowadays and wish that SU will bring this tool back!!

Now I have assembled all of the papers together and added a red shimmer tape and it still looked blank…. So next step is add something!

I decided to use the Pearl Opaques – this is also retired! I have TONS of those on hand and using it up slowly. LOL.

Now the card is completed!

Thank you for visiting!!  Most of the products are online through my CTMH site.  Please, just remember that pearl opaques and Game on PP are retired and no longer available for purchases.

Have a GREAT day!!
