Cards, Mail Call

I am adding a new thing called MAIL CALL is where you can mail me your card and I will share them on a video, first part of the month.   Here’s the theme I’d like to do for 2020. They will need to be in my hands by the last day of the month before to be in the Mail Call Videos.

  • July 2020 – Your favorite color (Due by June 30)
  • August 2020 – Just Because (Due July 31)
  • September 2020 – Thinking of You (Due August 31)
  • October 2020 – Birthday (Due September 30)
  • November 2020 – Christmas/Holiday (Due October 31)
  • December 2020 – Thank You (Due November 30)

How to do this: Please follow the steps below:

  1. Create a card based on one of the monthly themes. Make sure to leave the inside of the card free of any personalized message.  You can add your info on the back of the card.
  2. Download THIS PDF, cut it into four smaller forms, and fill out one form for your card. If you are sending more than one card, please fill out a form for each card and slip the forms inside the cards so I know which is which. Only cards with forms will be shown in videos, so I can properly acknowledge you on the video.
  3. If you would like your card returned to you, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Mail your card(s) to:

Jen’s Messy Studio
351 South 10th Street
Wood River, IL 62095

**This address is also on the form.**

And that’s it! (For ex: the July Mail Call video will be shared the first part of the month of August).

Cards, CTMH

All supplies are CTMH otherwise stated:

Stamp Sets: Celebrating you C1847 & Party Time Z3729

Cardstocks: White Daisy, Black & Julep (retired)

Inkpad: Intense Black

Markers: True Black, Jade Green, Light Green & Green Turquoise

Follow your Art

Hello there! I’m back with another card! I used Freshly Made Sketch #407 to create this card. I used White Daisy from CTMH for the card base. I used Stampin’ Up!’s Follow Your Art DSP for the background that is matted onto Coastal Cabana Cardstock.

The stamp set is It Starts with Art bundled with diecut from Stampin’ Up! I stamped those onto White Daisy cardstock with Intense Black, Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral then I ran it through the diecut machine. I used the bigshot to do this. I used Stampin’ Up!’s 3/4″ circle puncher (retired) and 1/2″ circle puncher for the buttons. I used the 3-D foam dots to pop up some of the buttons. I colored in the ribbon spools with those following tri-blend markers from CTMH in those following colors: Ice Grey, Gold Brown, Green Turqouise, Jade Green, Pale Pink, True Black & Blender.

For the sentiment strip; I used the Intense Black Inkpad to stamp this quote “follow your art” from the stamp set onto White Daisy cardstock. I took a small strip from one of the Follow Your Art DSP for the matting for the white strip. I used this Sentiment Label (A-7) from Simon Says Stamp.

For the final touch up; I added the Silver Glitter Gems from CTMH to give it a little bling! Hope you enjoyed this card!

Until then 🙂

Cards, Holiday

Traditional Christmas Card

I created this card for hubby’s grandmother who is 95 years old. We slid in a gift card to the book-a-million store as she is avid book reader.

Read on to see what supplies I used for this Traditional Christmas Card with a little modern concept.

I took White Daisy for the card base, which is your standard size of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I cut down one sheet (light brown/white) of Cedar & Pine Paper Packet to 4 x 5 1/4 and matted onto the white card base. I took the red sheet from Cedar & Pine Paper Packet and cut it down to 2 3/4 x 4 and matted it onto the light brown/white background paper.

I stamped the poinsetta from the Traditional Holiday stamp set with intense black inkpad. The intense black inkpad is recommended when you’re using alcohol based markers which I used Light Green Blend and Dark Red Blend markers to color the poinsetta. After I completed coloring, I took the blender (clear) and ran it over in some area to lighten up the colors. Once that was done, I took the Clear Shimmer brush and ran it over the poinsetta and set it aside so it could dry.

I used Evergreen, White and Espresso cardstock and ran it through the big shot using the Beautiful Bough die-cut from Stampin’ Up. Once that was all done, I assmebled the pine cones onto the white daisy for the background of die-cut from the Beautiful Bough. I attached the poinsetta with Pop Up Foam dots onto the white die-cut. I used the liquid glass to adhere the pinecones to the white outlines. Also, used liquid glass to adhere the pine leaves onto the card. Once everything was adhersed to the card; I ran the clear shimmer brush over everything to give it a little sparkly look.

I stamped the pine leaves and pine-cones from the Tradtional Holiday stamp set with Fern, Evergreen and Espresso inkpads onto the envelope.

I have included all of the supplies below to create this project. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

Until then, 🙂
